Day Eight

TASK: MAKE A LIST OF TEN MISTAKES YOU’VE MADE AND WHAT YOU’VE LEARNT FROM THEM.

I’ve always beaten myself up for making mistakes without looking at the progress I’ve made since then. I have done things that aren’t right, but wallowing in it and not changing is far worse.

In this world of cancel culture where one small mistake is the cause of one’s undoing, forgiving yourself and remembering life lessons are often underplayed. We do not put nearly enough importance to growth. (In the bigger picture, we can see how criminals are sentenced to a restrictive prison instead of rehabilitation. They are given no hope and no scope for redemption. )

Making mistakes, no matter how big, is how you keep moving forward and bettering yourself. Accepting that you can be wrong is essential.

Writing down your mistakes implies accepting that you have made them and writing what you have learnt from them makes you question your current mindset. Healthy reflection is key to move forward.

This task was an eye opener. One that reminded me to not make the same mistakes and to go easy on myself.

Unlearning self hate,

Amulya
